Endow a Fund

Endow a Fund at St. Mary’s University

At St. Mary’s University, endowed funds are transformative. They provide permanent
support—from student scholarships and faculty excellence to academic programs, mission
initiatives, and campus priorities. When you create an endowment, your gift is invested, and
each year 4.75% of its market value is distributed in perpetuity. The principal remains
intact, growing to support future generations.

How to Create an Endowment

    • 1.
Identify the Purpose of the Fund

Select a name, set any desired criteria and identify the types of recipients or initiatives it will support.

    • 2.
Choose How to Make Your Gift

Make a one-time gift or establish a pledge schedule over time.

Together, we will define the purpose of the fund — selecting a name, setting any desired criteria and identifying the types of recipients or initiatives it will support. You can choose to make a one-time gift or establish a pledge schedule over time.

Once these details are in place, University Advancement will work with you to finalize and execute a formal gift agreement.
